The Melville

Ceud Mile Failte

Translated from Traditional Scots Gaelic, "One hundred thousand welcomes" is exactly what you’ll receive at the Melville.

Scottish hospitality is legendary the world over and makes for an unforgettable holiday. So if you’re looking for great food, top-class entertainment, romantic castles, gentle lochs, rugged mountains or great glens steeped in history – look no further, Scotland, Edinburgh and the Melville have it all.

The Melville Guest House is a fine Victorian villa facing Duddingston Park and spectacular views of Arthur's Seat, a magnificent extinct volcano rising up from Edinburgh city.

We are an entirely non-smoking establishment and all our rooms are regularly refurbished, offering comfortable, attractive accommodation, including modern facilities on the ground floor for disabled guests. We also offer evening meals from Sunday to Friday.

Walk across the road and play golf at the public nine-hole course; drive less than ten minutes and enjoy the Queen's Park, Holyrood Palace and The Royal Mile; drive or bus to Portobello and enjoy the Promenade or to Leith Waterfront where the Royal Yacht Britannia has made her home.
